Ted Kim - Managing Partner
Founder and Managing Partner of Global Fund LLC since 2013, a US-based private equity firm focused on investing in high-growth companies across various industries and geographies, including pre-IPO. Successfully launched and closed multiple U.S.-based private equity funds as a highly experienced and disciplined private equity specialist. Selected as one of the top 10 cross-border M&A specialists by the Korean Presidential Blue House in 2014. Member of the Korea-America Business Summit, Washington D.C. since 2019. Managing Member and Co-founder of Global Star Acquisition I LLC, the sponsoring entity for the US Nasdaq listed SPAC “Global Star Acquisition Inc”. A co-founder of K Enter Holdings Inc. Attorney at Law with M&A and cross-border transaction focus. Guest Lecturer at Tsinghua University in 2005 on American venture capitalism. Stephen Drew - Managing Partner
Stephen has 25 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, and fintech-related businesses. Currently, researching/evaluating potential companies for acquisition. Since 2019, the US-based partner of a $27.5b asset manager based in Asia for equity investments. Stephen is responsible for investor relations, deal execution, and structuring of investments. Earlier in his career, Stephen was the founder and CEO of a finance company generating over $100m + yearly closings. Currently, a board member of NASDAQ-traded Global Star Acquisition. Previously, worked at Wall Street firms Citigroup and Gruntal & Co.
Yang Kan Chong - Managing Director, Singapore
YK adds more than 30 years of expert experience in energy (power, oil, gas). Currently, heading up the firm’s Asia SPAC investments while based in Singapore. YK has deep relationships with the investment community throughout Asia. YK also worked as a key manager of both Singapore and foreign-listed companies managing projects and people in multi and cross-cultural environments. Current Senior Advisor of Tangent Holdings (Pvt) Ltd. Previous Managing Director of AsiaPetroleum Technology Pte Ltd, President & CEO of the US-listed China New Energy Group Company, Group Deputy CEO of the Singapore-listed China EnerSave Limited, several US energy giants and Singapore Government-linked companies.
Kim, ChaeYeon - Managing Director, Korea
CY brings yet a more diverse touch to the Fund. With experience in IT Education, consulting for SMEs and trading firms, NGOs such as Korea Research Institute, Korea Culture & Tourism Institute, and Korea National Commission for UNESCO, she will be an important asset to the Fund. Prudent negotiator, attention to detail, and her pursuit of transparency are invaluable.
Tze-Fang Liu - Analyst
Tze-Fang joined Global Fund in 2019. She is a highly skilled Stock Analyst with a strong background in financial analysis and market research. With a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of market trends, She excels at evaluating stocks, identifying growth opportunities, and providing data-driven investment insights. Her expertise spans across multiple sectors, utilizing advanced financial models and valuation techniques to drive strategic recommendations.
Alice Rothschild - Associate
Alice E. Rothschild is an Associate of Global Fund primarily engaged in the analysis of Fintech, Biotechnology, and TMT of non-U.S. private equity and SPAC investments. Prior to joining Global Fund in 2022, Ms. Rothschild was a private equity summer intern at Legacy Health Capital. She also has experience in M&A, Venture Capital, and Corporate Development through her work with a Fortune 500 healthcare company. Ms. Rothschild graduated from Rice University with an MBA focused on Finance, Investment Management, and Strategy in 2022. She graduated from the University of Houston with a B.B.A. in Marketing in 2018. Ms. Rothschild has also studied strategy and Innovation at MIT Sloan as part of their executive education program.
Sungae (Sarah) Kang-Manager
Sarah is a manager at Global Fund. She supports the firm's managing partners with various tasks, including but not limited to organizing meetings and attending various investor conferences to promote the firm's interest. Handling managerial tasks and also supporting the firm in obtaining better deal flow. Before joining, she had her education focused on psychology and business administration.

Dr. Gerard Chuah - Special Advisor
Dr. Gerard Chuah obtained his basic medical degree in 1988 from the National University of Singapore, followed by his Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS Edinburgh) in 1993, and in 1994, he obtained his Master of Medicine in Ophthalmology from the Postgraduate School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He subsequently obtained his Advanced Specialty Training Certification in 1997 and went to the University of Toronto for his fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery from 1997-1998. He also went to the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary for a medical fellowship in 1998. Upon his return to Singapore in 1998, he obtained his Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, and was accredited as a specialist in Ophthalmology in Singapore.
A former Public Service Commission Local Merit Scholar, he is also accredited and registered as a specialist in the United Kingdom (General Medical Council specialist register) and Hong Kong (specialist register of the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine). He is presently on the overseas register of the General Medical Council, the United Kingdom, and was a former clinical tutor with the National University of Singapore, a former visiting consultant to the Eye Institute, National Healthcare Group, a visiting professor to the Qingdao Hai Ci Group of Hospitals, a visiting lecturer to the Shanghai Ren Ji Hospital Group, former head of the Alexandria Hospital Eye Service and also former Head of Business Development of the Eye Institute, National Healthcare Group. From 2001 to 2005, he was the Chairman of the National Kidney Foundation Children’s Medical Fund. He is presently the Consultant Eye Surgeon and Medical Director of the Asian Diabetic and Retinal Disease Center located at 1 Tras Link Orchid Hotel.
JH Kim: - General Advisor
Mr. JH Kim served as a top-class CEO and an advisor to many multinational entities over the last 40 + years. Was one of the early leaders in the “wig” export industry out of Korea in the early 70s when that country had no other meaningful industry, and was one of the pioneers of solar energy and polysilicon ingot manufacturing and exporting in the 2000s. Never saying no to promising yet struggling entities, Mr. JH Kim provided countless pieces of advice and guidance to entrepreneurs and corporate leaders both in Asia and the U.S.
Kwanok Kim: - General Advisor
Dr. Kwanok Kim has been a Professor in areas of International Political Economy at Korean Universities for 25 years. Dr. Kim has a Masters Degree from the University of Delaware in 1993 and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Utah in 1998. Most of Kwanok’s academic research has focused on issues such as governmental economic bargaining and international trade relations among the U.S., Japan, and China. He was a visiting professor at the University of Minnesota and the Chinese Academy of Social Science. While Dr. Kim served universities as a Professor, he has actively engaged in policy-making networks in Korean government and business circles. He served some government positions as an advisor of the Korean Blue House’s Presidential Commission on Policy Planning as well as business positions as an outside director of some listed companies like GNCO Co. Recently Dr. Kim has actively participated in TV programs as a panel for domestic and International current affairs. Based on his experience in both public and business sectors, Dr. Kim has maintained his networks with policy-making individuals as well as journalists in Korean Society.

Nicholas Aaron Khoo, In Nicholas’ diversified career spanning 20 years, he has worked with both tech startups and Fortune 500 CEOs. He has also provided leadership in Asia Pacific and Japan for a consulting team in Visa supporting the largest online merchants in risk management and led the same region for a private investor in high-growth startups. Currently serving on the Board of Singapore's Casino Regulatory Authority, Nicholas has also served on various official committees, including the National Crime Prevention Council, Singapore50 (SG50) Education and Youth Committee, Vision 2030 Gen Z Committee, and the Internet and Media Advisory Committee.
Nicholas has represented Singapore on the global stage regularly, including meetings in Latin America, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia. He has co-chaired an ASEAN official program for youths and led a national delegation to the Nanjing Youth Olympics on the invitation of China’s Vice Premier. A father of four, Nicholas is a Fellow of the Singapore Computer Society and has recently been awarded the Minister for Home Affairs National Day Awards in Singapore.
Ted Kim is a highly disciplined and experienced financial and legal consultant. Held previous positions as an attorney at law, private equity, and venture capital specialist. Currently, using his vast network, he is assisting various investors with SPAC investments. Ted also evaluates SPAC sponsor teams and is instrumental in the firm launching a SPAC franchise. Ted was selected as one of the top 10 cross-border M&A experts by the Korean Presidential Blue House in 2013 when he was also the Chairman of the “Foreign Institutional Investors Association (FIIA).” Subsequently, he served as a member of the 10-person Steering Committee for the “New Growth Engine Fund,” a US 300 million fund managed by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea. Previously, Vice Chairman of SBI (formerly Softbank Investment) Private Equity Pan-Asia Fund.

Jukka Rannila, has agreed to serve as a member of Global Fund LLC’s Investment Committee Member since October 2022. Mr. Rannila is a seasoned professional with vast experience in investment management and real estate. From 2013 to 2020, Mr. Rannila served as the Chairman of the board of directors of Berlin Invest 3 Oy, from 2012-2020 with Berlin Invest 2 Oy, and from 2011 to 2022 with Berlin Invest Oy, where he oversaw residential real estate portfolios. Mr. Rannila currently serves as a board member of the investment management company for the Berlin Invest Oy groups, Confido Kiinteistöhallinta Oy, where he oversees a residential real estate portfolio in Berlin, Germany. Similarly, since 2018, Mr. Rannila has acted as a member of the board of Assai Commercial Oy, where he oversees a commercial real estate portfolio in the greater Helsinki area. Since 2004, Mr. Rannila has acted as a board member and investment manager of Assai Oy, where he is responsible for the operations and investment portfolio of listed and non-listed companies in the family office. Since 2009, Mr. Rannila has acted as chairman of the board of Nosh Company Oy, where he co-directs a high-growth fashion and design group of companies. Currently, Mr. Rannila also co-directs a high-growth robotics company with international expansion, Trussmatic Oy. Similarly, since 2018, Mr. Rannila has co-directs a high-growth manufacturing group of companies through his director position with Tikli Group Oy. More recently, in 2021, Mr. Rannila manages all operations of Warp Bridge Oy, an SPV investing in a venture capital fund, as a Managing Director. Mr., Rannila studied at the University of Manchester in the Department of Accounting and Finance.
